Ishmael will receive two grants from the EU for tourism development in black sea basin

Ishmael will restore historical Museum and city garden.

At the international competition «Black sea Basin 2014-2020», organized by Eu the city of Izmail, Odessa region won grants for two projects on tourism development. Thus, among the 500 projects for the development of small cities of Ukraine, Bulgaria, Romania, Georgia, Moldova, Turkeys And Greece and Armenia, the Commission selected only 23.

About this on his page said the mayor of Izmail Andrey Abramchenko.

The first project that will be funded in Ishmael, that «Green tourism and heritage — a stepping stone for the development of the Black sea basin». It includes the restoration of Izmail historical Museum «Danube region». «In the Museum of the existing solid fuel boiler replaced by modern, energy-efficient, will gain a powerful heat pump for heating and cooling buildings, replace wooden Windows with energy-saving, upgrade the lighting,» — said in the message.

The second project «Development of sustainable cultural tourism in the Black sea basin». It provides for the restoration and improvement of the public garden opposite the Svyato-Pokrovsky Cathedral. So, the Park will install the lighting and new benches, replace the paving and restore the wrought iron fence, planted new ornamental trees and will be equipped with Wi-Fi zone.

«These two projects we won, and after the signing of the financing will start,» wrote the mayor of Ishmael.

I mentioned earlier that the authorities of Odessa region have allocated a huge sum for restoration of the Akkerman fortress. The allocated funds are planning to conduct archaeological exploration, to restore the walls and build infrastructure for tourists.
